Ariel University is a multidisciplinary research institution with around 17,000 students. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral programs across five faculties—medicine, engineering, natural sciences, health sciences, and social sciences and humanities.

Assaf and Shlomit Olshitsky, who will be the JLIC couple at Ariel University, are parents of eight children and were born in Israel. Assaf, from Petah Tikva, is a veteran educator with a master’s in counseling. He’s also a theater actor, personal trainer, and author of the book “Growing up with Them.” He lectures and performs educational plays and founded a playback theater unit that performed for soldiers. Shlomit, from Beit El, is a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Ma’aini Hashuah Hospital in Bnei Brak. She loves exploring the landscapes of Israel, including the Sea of Galilee and hiking trails. The family has been living in Ariel for several years.
The International Medical Science (Pre-med) program requires an SAT, ACT or psychometric exam.
A high school transcript, English proficiency and some professions require an interview as well.
For fall semester programs registration opens January and closes by the start of the academic school year but we recommend to apply latest by September
Applications are done for the year of study. We do not have the option to defer.
The student is required to present a Hebrew proficiency level by having done army service or taking a “Yael” test (Hebrew proficiency test). The common grade needed is about 110-120.

Potentially; it depends on the specific curriculum of the program and the AP.
In Hebrew degree programs where there are Jewish Heritage courses, the gap year can be counted towards receiving exemptions. In the international school, it is general not relevant. In the Medical Science program, perhaps if a gap year course had to do with Medicine, then it could be considered for credit based on curriculum.
Generally we can accept up to two thirds of a three-year program, subject to the decision of the department.
Yes, this student can freeze his or her studies.
The tuition is the standard amount set by the CHE (Council of Higher Education), which is roughly US $4,000 a year.
There are dorms on campus and the price ranges between $250-$500 a month.
The Housing facility has an arrangement with the University to be able to offer the above price.
For those who make aliyah, there is an option for full tuition funding through the Student Authority.
The Office of the Dean of Students at Ariel University also provides financial assistance based on socio-economic factors as well as volunteering-based scholarships.
Ariel University does not arrange health insurance for students. Students should obtain insurance through a provider such as Harel Yedidim, Maccabi Foreign Health Insurance or Aim Health.

25% of the student population live in the dorms; 25-30% live in Ariel city or the surrounding area; the rest travel from home. Many students own a car but there is regular, public transportation to and from central Israel.
Dormitories are rented for a one year period.
The dormitories make a point to match people with similar lifestyles. All events at the university are kosher. There is a shul on campus and many opportunities for minyan around campus. There are several religious organizations that offer hospitality and Jewish experiences around campus.

There is no separation. Israeli and international students study in the same programs, live in the same dorms, and participate in many extra curricular activities together. There are some activities that are geared towards international students only.
